This eBook is intended to reinforce one's skills by those who have an IFR rating but don't fly often in IFR conditions. It aims to review flying techniques that were learned in IFR training but are often forgotten by low time users.
Too often the information was relayed to pilots verbally while he or she was busy flying their aircraft. Mark, an attorney, and Jose, a business consultant and an adjunct professor, have written the information in a logical, linear format to assist one in becoming a better pilot. However, no two flights are ever the same, and neither are pilots. Therefore, it is not necessary to read the chapters in order. Even though this book was written with the single engine general aviation aircraft in mind, it is applicable to all IFR flights in different makes and models of aircrafts.
About the Authors: Authors, Mark Velasquez and Dr. Jose Velazquez have many years experience as instrument pilots. Mark Velasquez began flying like many others, part time while in college and after work. He subsequently became an instructor at San Diego Flight Training International, the flight school where he received his ratings. Afterwards, he flew the civilian route to become an airline pilot. First flying cargo with AirNet Express, Inc., and then with American Eagle. Dr. Jose Velasquez has been an instrument pilot since 2003. Both realized that experienced pilots as well as novice pilots need reminders of the information they were told by their instructors.
