This course serves as initial and refresher training on propeller maintenance for piston engines. It covers the fundamentals of propellers and the forces acting on them. The course also discusses construction methods and materials used in propeller design. Additionally, it includes topics such as the reduction gearbox and different types of propellers. The course explores the propeller spinner, as well as feathering and reverse pitch mechanisms. Overspeed protection is also addressed, along with synchronizing and synchrophasing techniques. Fluid and electrical de-icing equipment are covered, along with static and dynamic balancing. Finally, the course includes methods for assessing blade damage.

The course is built into short 1-2 minute segments including animations, video and complete narration. Stage exams provide a refresher and confirmation of the key points. A menu bar provides easy navigation between topics. The average time spent to complete this course is 2 hours. However this may vary depending your experience and study habits. The course ends with a final exam which when passed, provides a printable certificate of completion in your name. Once you begin, you will have 1 year to complete and review the course.
