Course Preview

This course serves as initial and refresher training on aircraft electrics. Beginning with the electron theory and the different sources of electricity, important laws and components in simple electrical circuits. Covering the principals of power, work and energy. The generation, regulation and storage in the different types of batteries, operation and construction of AC and DC motors, as well as the distribution in aircraft systems being addressed. Completing the course with topics on emergency power generation, circuit protection and typical aircraft electrical components. The course concludes with a comprehensive multiple choice questionnaire allowing the participant to test his acquired knowledge.

The course is built into short 1-2 minute segments including animations, video and complete narration. Stage exams provide a refresher and confirmation of the key points. A menu bar provides easy navigation between topics. The average time spent to complete this course is 8 hours. However this may vary depending your experience and study habits. The course ends with a final exam which when passed, provides a printable certificate of completion in your name. Once you begin, you will have 1 year to complete and review the course.

IA Renewal Training Credit
This course (FAA ALC-1373) qualifies for 8 hours of IA Renewal Credit. If you hold Inspection Authorization (IA), this course serves as the entirety of your annual continued training requirements. Upon your successful completion, ATB will authorize this credit through FAA and a printable IA certificate of accomplishment will be made available at www.FAAsafety.gov.

FAAST AMT Award Points:
