FAA-S-ACS-1 Airman's Certification Standards
In September 2022, the FAA document; Airman Certification Standards (FAA-S-ACS-1) for the Aviation Maintenance Technician General, Airframe, and Powerplant replaces the previous Practical Test Standards (PTS).
The ACS lists the required knowledge, skills and risk management abilities which are required to earn an FAA A&P airman certificate. It is useful for students, as well as for instructors, and examiners when determining what an applicant must know and do to pass their FAA written, oral, and practical exams and so to earn an Aviation Mechanic certificate.
Includes the FAA-G-ACS-1 Companion Guide to the A&P ACS
The ACS Companion Guide provides an overview of the A&P mechanic's testing process, offering a further explanation of the ACS and detailing the process and regulations regarding the written, oral, and practical exams.
Note: This document is also included with the 2025 ATB Test Guides with no extra cost.
